Britney Spears is reluctant to return to her gruelling touring schedule.
It’s been three years since the Gimme More hitmaker last hit the road with her ‘Piece of Me Tour’ in 2018 – and she’s unsure whether she’ll ever tour again.
The singer, who recently saw her 13-year-long conservatorship terminated, shared an extended note on social media, admitting she “hated” her packed itinerary early in her career.
Addressing her work life, she penned: “I know I’m not playing in huge arenas with my loud band anymore but I will be honest and say life on the road is hard.
“My first three years in the biz and on the road were great but I’ll be completely honest and say that after those three tours and the pace I was going… I don’t think I ever want to do it again.”
She added: “I read an interview a long time ago where Will Smith even said the music industry is a whole different animal compared to movies.
“I agree it’s too much,” she added.
Britney hasn’t released new music since 2016’s ‘Glory’, but it was recently reported the Toxic star is looking to get back to work and discussing new projects
After her long- term manager Larry Rudolph quit in July, Britney is apparently eyeing Bobby Campbell to take the reins going forward, with insiders revealing she “has a lot of respect for the working relationship Bobby has with Lady Gaga”.
“Britney thinks they might make a good team,” they said. “It is early days but she feels there is potential. The ideas being discussed include a greatest hits album with new bonus tracks, and live dates which are being seen as her farewell tour.”
