Boy George has shared a new track inspired by Fleetwood Mac’s Albatross.
The song, which shares its title with the group’s 1968 instrumental recording, features George singing over the guitar-based tune and is available on his YouTube channel.
Revealing his inspiration for the track, he wrote: “I had this idea while driving in Los Angeles about fours [sic] ago and I just decided to sing over this classic.
“This is a cover of the Fleetwood Mac classic which I always felt was a slow blues jam.”
Taking to Twitter to share the song with fans, George explained he re-recorded the music for his cover and mused a duet with the band’s frontwoman Stevie Nicks.
“You understand I have written over this classic instrumental by Fleetwood Mac,” penned the Culture Cub star.
“Although we recreated the music. When I hear a beautiful landscape I just get carried away.”
He added: “I wonder what @StevieNicks will think. She could join me on vocals!”
