Blur have been asked to reunite to honour the co-founder of Food Records who signed the group in 1990.
Andy Ross passed away this week at the age of 66 and Right Here, Right Now hitmakers Jesus Jones have called on the band to perform in his memory.
“We’re heartbroken at the loss of Andy Ross, one half of the mighty Food Records,” they tweeted.
Hey @blurofficial , what do you say we get Food back together, and do something for Andy? @dubstarUK @t_supernaturals @CrazyheadUK @DieselParkWest_ Just a thought x

“Without him, we’d have never been able to do what we did. We’ll always be grateful, and we’ll always miss him. Goodbye boss xxx.”
Subsequently, Blur drummer Dave Rowntree wrote: “Really sad to learn of the passing of my friend and mentor Andy Ross. He was one of the good ones – generous, warm, and kind.”
In response, Jesus Jones reached out to the Damon Albarn-fronted group in a bid to reunite Blur and celebrate Ross’ legacy.
“Hey [Blur], what do you say we get Food back together, and do something for Andy,” they wrote. “Just a thought x.”
They also tagged Dubstar, The Supernaturals and Crazyhead in the post.
Damon previously said the group have “ideas” for another reunion – three years after they last hit the stage together.
“We did have a chat recently, but we haven’t really progressed further than that,” he reflected. “We did have an idea though; I’ve just been a bit busy at the moment obviously.
“When it happens, I’ll be made up… When it’s wanted, I’ll do it. I don’t want to foist that stuff on anybody unnecessarily.”
