Following in the footsteps of Kylie Minogue, Gary Barlow and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Queen look to be the next music stars to make their mark down the wine aisle.
According to The Sun’s Bizarre column, founding members Brian May and Roger Taylor have trademarked band’s iconic crest for use on a range of goods, including bottles of vino.
A source revealed: “Queen are joining the wine game.
“Booze has proved to be a very lucrative market and they’re throwing their hats into the ring. It’s all very early days but the plan is to get the trademark approved and then get moving on production.”
It won’t be their first foray into the alcohol business; in 2014, the band launched Killer Queen Vodka in tribute to their late frontman, Freddie Mercury, who died in November 1991 aged 45.
Named after their 1974 hit, Brian spoke about the late vocalist’s penchant for vodka at the time, admitting: “Killer Queen Vodka is the perfect tribute to Freddie… we know Freddie would have approved.”
