Erasure will release a brand new four-track EP in October.
According to singer Andy Bell, the synth-pop duo, who release ‘The Neon Remixed’, featuring their latest single Secrets, in July, are already planning new music for later this year.
“There’s a remix version of the album that’s coming out in July, then off of that is an EP that’s coming out in October, which is four tracks that weren’t on the album,” he tells Voyager Radio.
“And then Vince [Clarke] wants to do another [album],” he teases, revealing the pair have been connecting on Zoom to figure out plans for the future.
In a previous interview, Vince revealed the pair have “a lot more” unreleased songs from sessions for their latest LP which “will be released at some point in the future”.
The musician explained the pair usually “write the ten songs, and then that’s it – but for this, somehow, we wrote a lot more…”
“We knew that there were some good ideas and then it was up to the record company really to try and say, what was going to be on the album and which ones wouldn’t but will be released at some point in the future,” he shared.
“That’s always the way; nothing really gets discarded.”
‘The Neon Remixed’ sees tracks from the hit LP remixed by a host of artists including Kim Ann Foxman, Hifi Sean, Octo Octa, Paul Humphreys (OMD), Andy Bell & Gareth Jones, Brixxtone, Theo Kottis and more.
The album is due for release on July 30, 2021 on limited edition double coloured vinyl and gatefold CD, both packaged in a mirror board sleeve.
