The track serves as the first preview of her upcoming third album, due in 2025, with Alexis due to perform an intimate set at The Cavendish Arms, London on November 18.
Featuring a live performance and Q&A, Alexis says of the gig: “Can’t wait to be back, my pretties! This is super limited and tickets will sell out, so grab em fast!”
Tickets are on sale now and are available here.
Speaking to RETROPOP, Alexis opened up about her return to music after working in IT since exiting the industry, during which time her songs were recorded by artists such as Kylie Minogue and Rachel Stevens.
“The biggest step was finding out that I had a fan base, because when you have a fan base, you can’t not do it,” she beamed. “It felt like there were too many people talking about the music – being excited about it, or even disliking it – that I just thought: ‘OK, this isn’t done.’
“Everything in me was compelling me to continue and actually, it was a really good way back in to do the old music, because it meant I could practise singing and writing again, and see if I could still do it – because I hadn’t written a song in 15 years! “
She added: “I don’t know of anyone else who’s had that longer hiatus and been completely outside of music – you know, I didn’t even listen to it – but it feels like everything that I do this time around is better. The songs that I’m writing are better, my voice is better, why would I not continue?”
