ABBA star Frida is to be the subject of the upcoming biography, Frida Before ABBA.
The SOS singer, full name Anni-Frid Lyngstad, has enjoyed a varied career outside of the chart-topping Swedish four-piece, and the forthcoming publication will explore her work as a singer before and after ABBA.
According to a Facebook page for the publication, which will be independently published by Remko van Drongelen, the book will “chronologically detail the musical output by Frida Lyngstad during her professional and non-professional career as a solo artist from the mid-fifties to the present.”
In addition to 25 new interviews with people who’ve worked closely together with Frida, it will also “detail musicians, studios, venues, songs and background information and comes with an extensive list of tour dates, discography and description of a large number of unreleased recordings.”
The book will be financed by crowd funding which will kick off on June 22 2020 (link coming soon).
The cover for the book was taken in 1996 by Carl Bengtsson for the Djupa Andetag album.
Frida has released five solo albums outside of ABBA’s eight iconic records, including the English language Something’s Going On and Shine – both of which were recently re-released.
Meanwhile, new ABBA music is slated for release later this year, according to Bjorn Ulvaeus.
