Cyndi Lauper will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame by Chappell Roan on November 8.
The Pink Pony Club hitmaker will make an appearance during the Los Angeles ceremony to honour the singer-songwriter, as she joins the class of 2025.
In an Instagram video announcing the news, Chappell shared her excitement and spoke of the impact the Time After Time singer has had on her and her career.
“She has inspired me with her fashion and her hair, and of course, her makeup, her music,” she said. “I actually auditioned with True Colors for ‘America’s Got Talent’ when I was 13. I didn’t make it, but the song is still incredible. I’m so excited, thank you for having me.”
It comes after Cyndi told Playbill of her admiration for the Good Luck, Babe! star’s rising career.
“Such dusky, yearning keyboard pop,” she said of her music. “And that hair! That kind of reminds me of what I did on the blues record, Memphis Blues. This is just incredible.”
Alongside Chappell, The Killers and En Vogue have been added to the star-studded lineup of guests at the induction ceremony, alongside previously-announced performers and presenters, including Elton John, RAYE, Olivia Rodrigo and Beck.
