Kim Wilde will drop the second single from her upcoming album ‘Closer’ on November 22.
The follow-up to latest release Trail Of Destruction is billed as “a very early ’80s-inspired electro-rock track” and will be available across digital platforms, with a limited edition 7″ vinyl also available.
Clocking in at 10 songs, ‘Closer’ features collaborations with Midge Ure and Kim’s niece, Scarlett Wilde.
Speaking to RETROPOP, the Kids In America singer referred to the record as as a “sister” to the ‘Close’ LP, which delivered smash hits like Hey Mister Heartache, You Came, Never Trust A Stranger, Four Letter Word and Love In The Natural Way.
“It really is a sister album to ‘Close’ in many, many ways,” she explained. “It has the same diversity, the same sort of eclectic storytelling. Obviously, there’s a big emphasis on personal things and love and bigger themes.
“There’s dance on it. There’s rock on it. It’s as diverse as the ‘Close’ album and we really used that as a blueprint. It’s very evident and I can’t wait for people to hear it!”
In support of the album, Kim will embark on a tour of the UK throughout March 2025.
‘Closer’ is out January 31, 2025 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
