Nelly Furtado has once again joined forces with Colombian singer Juanes on their new single Gala y Dalí.
The pair first worked together in 2002 on their hit song Fotografía and later teamed up again on Te Busqué for her 2006 album ‘Loose’.
Sharing her excitement over their latest nostalgic tune, Furtado says: “Juanes and I share a special musical frequency together. Our voices blend so magically.
“Working with him always feels like a natural, effortless fit. And in a way, Gala y Dalí celebrates 20-plus years since we released our first song together, Fotografía.”
“For me it’s a profound delight to work with Nelly again,” adds Juanes of the track, which fuses reggaeton beats with Latin pop under a lyric about a couple whose relationship is like that of Spanish artist Salvador Dalí and his wife Gala.
“On this song, she takes me to a place of joy and light, that I could give myself an opportunity to break away from my sound, from what I play on the guitar, and go to a more Caribbean, more danceable sound, which Nelly also wanted to have in this song.”

Gala y Dalí follows a string of releases from the Maneater hitmaker, including Eat Your Man with Dom Dolla and Keep Going Up with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, ahead of the release of her long-awaited seventh studio album.
Speaking about the record, which is “currently in the mixing space”, Furtado shared in a new interview: “I can’t reveal too much, but it’s gonna be elevated
“This current version, it’s about 10 to 20 per cent Spanish. We have big plans and I’m so excited about it because I’m in a better head space than ever.
“I’ve never loved being an entertainer more. I feel like I’m really owning it.”
