Elton John will be joined by some yet-to-be-revealed special guests during his headline performance at Glastonbury.
The Tiny Dancer singer will round out his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour by headlining the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm, Somerset later this month, marking his final UK date on the trek.
Speaking in an interview with Scott Mills on BBC Radio 2, Elton hinted at what to expect from his set – his first ever at Glastonbury – sharing: “It’s the first time I’ve been asked… it’s come at the right time, I’m a great believer in serendipity and fate and it’s the most wonderful way to sign off in England…”
He added: “I’ve got guests and I can’t tell you who they are.”
When it comes to collaborators, Elton has plenty to choose from and his most recent album, 2021’s ‘The Lockdown Sessions’, is packed with A-list stars including Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus and Stevie Nicks.
Reflecting on his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour, which launched in 2018 and experienced numerous delays due to the pandemic, he continued: “It’s been everything I’d hoped it would be and more… it’s been better than I could ever have imagined it to be… I float off the stage into oblivion.”
“I’m happy, I’m happy in my personal life and my professional life, everything in my life is so wonderful,” he said, admitting he feels more comfortable than ever on stage. “So I think that’s why the performances really satisfy me.”
Elton will headline Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage on June 25.
