Adam Lambert is preparing to release his first covers album.
According to the ‘American Idol’ runner-up, ‘High Drama’ features a number of reinterpretations of songs that see him “completely flip them around so they feel like something new”.
“I’m very excited to announce that I have a new album coming out. It is an album of covers, and it is called High Drama,” he told ‘This Morning’.
“We thought, let me do an album where I take songs that you probably know, maybe a few you don’t know, and completely flip them around so they feel like something new and something that you haven’t heard before.”
Expected to feature on the LP is his cover of Noël Coward’s Mad About the Boy, which serves as the theme for the documentary ‘Mad About the Boy – The Noël Coward Story’ from director Barnaby Thompson.
The film chronicles the life and career of the playwright and will be released in 2023 to mark the 50th anniversary of his death.
It marks Adam’s first new music since signing a record deal with Warner Music.
