A new Netflix documentary is set to go behind the scenes of the life and career of pop sensations Wham!
The flick has reportedly been picked up by bosses at Netflix, with surviving member Andrew Ridgeley said to be in talks to appear.
Sources tell The Sun: “The Netflix team jumped at the chance to make this film. The Wham! story is an incredible one and who better to offer insight than Andrew? It is a really exciting project and they are putting a lot of resources into it.
“Andrew is also very keen for the opportunity to look back over his years with George in the band – though it will, of course, be bittersweet for him.
“It is a welcome chance to celebrate what they achieved together and will give fans a unique look behind the scenes.”
Andrew is largely absent from the forthcoming ‘George Michael: Freedom Uncut’ movie, which documents the late star’s solo career from his debut ‘Faith’ into the 1990s.
But execs at the streamer are apparently hoping his involvement in the film will catapult it to success, like previous projects about Taylor Swift (‘Miss Americana’) and Lady Gaga (‘Five Foot Two’).
“The bosses are confident this will be just as much of a hit, if not more,” the insider adds.
‘George Michael: Freedom Uncut’ hits cinemas on June 22.
