Fleetwood Mac are hitting the road again with a new world tour.
The group last performed globally on their ‘An Evening With Fleetwood Mac’ trek in 2018/2019, while dates in 2020 were axed due to the pandemic.
According to Hipgnosis Songs’ 2021 Interim Report, the group is one of a handful of acts planning to return to the stage in 2022 with a show “in the final stages of planning”.
“Our team also looks to maximise the natural promotion and excitement around live tours, and we are delighted that tour dates for many artists that are part of the Hipgnosis family are coming through,” reads the report.
“Shakira, Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Neil Young all have global tours in the final stages of planning.”
The last time Fleetwood Mac toured, Crowded House’s Neil Finn and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell stood in for Lindsey Buckingham, who exited the band.
Despite the band moving forward, Neil recently insisted he’d happily step down from his role if Lindsey were to return to the fold.
“I would be delighted for them if they reconcile. I would gladly step aside to allow that to happen,” he smiled.
“I’m not entering the arena in terms of whether that is possible. But I’m really happy that Mick has crossed some bridges with Lindsey. I know that had to happen at some point.”
Neil added: “I know it’s not as simple as that. But look, if it served Fleetwood Mac and its best interests, I would be delighted for them.”
