Shakira is set to release new music in July, ahead of a brand new studio album in 2022.
It’s been four years since the She Wolf star released her 11th studio album ‘El Dorado’ and, in an interview with Vogue Mexico, she revealed a new single is set to drop in a matter of weeks.
Confirming a music video has been shot for the track, Shakira shared: “I feel very energetic, eager to work and very inspired.
“I’m on full throttle, doing a lot of songs. I’m in the process of mixing that song that’s coming out in July.”
The track is set to be the lead single from the Whenever, Wherever star’s 12th LP, but it remains unknown whether the tune is recorded in English or Spanish.
So far, Shakira has released seven Spanish-language albums, and four English-language records in total.
“Songs will continue to come out throughout this year that will end up on an album that I think will be available next year,” she explained.
Shakira’s last major UK chart placement came in 2014 with her Rihanna collaboration Can’t Remember to Forget You, which peaked at No. 11.
