Tiffany is set to release I Like The Rain as the lead track from her forthcoming album Shadows.
The eighties icon – who shot to fame in 1987 with her cover of I Think We’re Alone Now – is set to release her 11th long-player later this year.
Preceding the LP, she’ll unveil its first single on Friday, October 14.
Speaking in Retro Pop’s July 2022 issue, Tiffany opened up about her latest project, describing the ‘Shadows’ album as “a little more technical than maybe people expect a Tiffany album”.
“The ‘Shadows’ album vocally, on some of the ballads, is overpowering,” she said. “You’re just like, ‘Wow!’ And there are great stories behind it of how we recorded the album.
“On some of the uptempo tracks, you’re gonna get that link to the ‘80s. A little bit of that retro, pop-punk kind of sound, which is really cool. Even now, there’s this pop art kind of culture happening, from younger kids to people that I love, like Berlin and Blondie.”
The singer added: “There’s so many people out right now doing shows and they haven’t changed – they’re amazing! They’re bringing that punky kind of rock and roll, edgy, soft glamour back, and I love all of that. And that’s kind of what ‘Shadows’ is going to really be.”
