Drag superstar Tia Kofi returns with her brand new single Curious. 

Produced by Canadian talent Kennen and written by legendary songwriters Topham and Twigg, the driving electro pop track is a dream come true for the performer, who shot to fame in 2021 after competing on series two of ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race UK’. 

“It’s such an amazing song and they’re actual legends – I can’t believe that I’ve actually recorded one of their songs,” Tia tells RETROPOP of the collaboration. 

For the ‘Drag Race’ contestant-turned-pop princess it’s a ‘pinch me’ moment; a huge pop fan, she names Steps’ Deeper Shade of Blue as her favourite Topham and Twigg-penned single. 

The hitmaking duo are equally thrilled, with Karl Twigg sharing: “As a songwriter there is no better feeling than when you’re writing a song and know it’s special. Then the bigger challenge is getting the right artist to bring it to life and make it their own. 

“Curious and Tia is a prime example of the stars aligning. We adore the song and love what Tia has done with it.”

Following on from last year’s ‘Part 2: The Antidote’ EP, the single is another smash hit and would make the perfect ‘Drag Race’ lip sync track – and Tia would be all for it!

“I guess it would be difficult because we’re all Mama Ru’s children and she doesn’t have favourites,” she says, before quickly adding: “But if they did, I would absolutely be here for a lip sync to Curious or [2021 Little Boots and Tom Aspaul-penned single] Outside In!”
