Brandon Flowers is working on his third solo album.
The Killers frontman revealed he’s readying the follow-up to ‘Flamingo’ (2010) and ‘The Desired Effect’ (2015) during an interview with NME.
“I’m making a solo record right now,” he confirmed. “I almost had it wrapped up. The goal has always been to get all four original [Killers] members to take ownership and be proud of what we’re doing, but it’s so difficult with all four of us living in different cities.
“It’s not impossible. It’s weird to be talking to you about it, but I’d definitely like to do that.”
On the style of his upcoming album, he added: “It’s different. I feel like it embodies a little bit of my first two solo records, but obviously there’s so much more living that I’ve done in the seven years since my last effort.
“I’ve got a lot more insight and things that I’ve absorbed. I’m really loving how it’s turning out.”
Flowers recently returned to the top of the UK charts with their latest compilation album, ‘Rebel Diamonds’, giving the group their eighth No. 1 LP.
In a review of the album, RETROPOP said ‘Rebel Diamonds’ is “packed with hits” but that it “comes across more as a substitute for the record that fell through than a wholehearted celebration of the group’s success to date”.
In support of the album, the group will embark on a UK tour next summer, with Glaswegian band Travis will be joining them as the opening act for the shows.
