Taylor Swift celebrated a record-breaking night at the Grammys on Sunday (February 4) by announcing her new album.
While accepting the Best Vocal Pop Album prize, the Anti-Hero star revealed she’ll release ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ – the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Midnights’ and Taylor’s Versions of ‘Speak Now’ and ‘1989’, which arrived last year – on April 19.
“OK, this is my 13th Grammy, which is my lucky number. I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that,” she said as she took the stage.
“So I want to say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand-new album comes out April 19th.
“It’s called ‘The Tortured Poets Department’,” she added: “I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you, I love you!”
Fans speculated Taylor was set to make an announcement earlier in the day, when her website displayed an error message and she changed her social media profile pictures.
The Grammys proved a big night for Taylor, who became the first artist to win Album of the Year four times, having picked up the accolade for ‘Fearless’ (2009), ‘1989’ (2016), ‘Folklore’ (2021) and ‘Midnights’ (2024).
She was nominated for a total of six Grammys this year.
