Sugababes are reportedly in demand among record labels following their massive return to the stage.
The trio – starring Keisha Buchanan, Mutya Buena and Siobhan Donaghy – performed a run of festival gigs at Glastonbury and Mighty Hoopla over the summer, before embarking on a headline UK tour in the autumn.
On December 24, they surprise released their eighth studio album, ‘The Lost Tapes’, which quickly rocketed up the iTunes chart and amasses millions of streams over its first week.
Now, insiders claim record labels are vying to work with the group as their comeback continues into the new year.
Sources tell The Sun’s Bizarre column: “There are lots of nineties and noughties acts which reunite and it’s a bit cheesy and full of nostalgia, but the original Sugababes are actually cool, credible artists.
“They have really impressed people at the major labels this year with their voices.
“The reaction from fans proves they are really a viable act to have huge success with new music.
“They have some great ideas for songs and reckon they can win over a whole new generation of Sugababes fans.
“The hope is that they will sign to a label at the beginning of the year and have new music out at some point in the next 12 months.”
Featuring 13 tracks, ‘The Lost Tapes’ includes the 2013 single Flatline – originally released under the MKS moniker – along with Love Me Hard and Today, both of which the group performed on their recent UK tour.
Next year, Sugababes will return to the stage with a massive gig at London’s The O2 arena.
