Stereophonics are back with the second single from their upcoming album.
Seems Like You Don’t Know Me – the follow-up to There’s Always Gonna Be Something – leans into atmospheric synth-pop and is the latest taster of their new LP, ‘Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait’.
Frontman Kelly Jones says of the track: “It always had a great melody, but in the studio I took it through three or four different versions, from very complex busy drumming refs to the finished, very sparse drum machine and juno synth version on the album, which I love.
“That atmosphere and the lyrics match so well together. Relationships are complex. Communication is so often broken.”

Clocking in at eight songs, a press release adds of the LP: “It is at once clean and precise. Hopeful and joyous. It does what it says on the cover. You Laugh, You Cry, You Wait.”
“Kelly also opened up about the artwork for the album, which features its title against a pink background, sharing: “I went to New York, I visited some galleries, I saw ‘ART IS A GUARANTY OF SANITY’, a painting by Louise Bourgeois.
“She believed art was a form of mental healing and a way to process difficult emotions. The spelling caught me first, then the simplicity of the words etched onto a pink tile.
“So I tried scratching my title, inspired by my own art school teacher thirty years ago. And I loved it. I loved the simplicity of the pink. The pink album was born.”
In support of the record, the Maybe Tomorrow hitmakers are embarking on their ‘Stadium Anthems’ tour, including two hometown gigs at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on July 11 and 12, with additional shows across North America and Europe.
‘Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait’ is out April 25 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more.
