Steps are supporting the NHS by taking part in the #OneMillionClaps campaign to support healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.
For the past few weeks, Brits have stepped outside to show their support for the public healthcare system by clapping for carers at 8pm every Thursday evening. This week, NHS Charities Together is asking those taking part to donate just £5, which will go towards supporting NHS teams across the UK.
Claire Richards, Faye Tozer, Ian H Watkins, Lisa Scott-Lee, and Lee Latchford Evans all took to social media to implore fans to donate to the cause, sharing a clip urging fans to TEXT CLAP along with a message of support to 70507.
Lee wrote: “Hey guys @officialsteps are joining in & asking the nation to text to donate £5 to the official NHS Charities Together, and send a message to their local NHS hospital.”
“Please share and say a huge Thankyou to the wonderful NHS workers that are working so hard to keep us safe and healthy right now,” added Claire, as Lisa said, “We need our NHS more than ever right now, and I for one am truly grateful for all their sacrifices, hard work and dedication.”
The campaign comes as fans anticipate new music from the Stomp hitmakers, with Claire previously teasing an album and tour are on the way.
