Steps are celebrating 23 years together since the group was first formed.
Singers Claire Richards, Ian ‘H’ Watkins, Faye Tozer, Lee Latchford-Evans, and Lisa Scott-Lee have taken to social media to celebrate the group’s anniversary.
“Happy 23rd Birthday to us!!!! Lisa wrote, alongside an utterly fabulous ‘then and now’ pic.
“Thank you to our fab mgt @fascinationmanagement for all your hard work and this fun photo.”
H gave his pals the ultimate throwback with a snap from their first night out together, writing in an extended message: “HAPPY 23rd BIRTHDAY @officialsteps ! Here’s a little unseen flashback pic ( taken on my disposable camera – yes, they were a ‘thing’!) from our first night out, way back in May 1997!
“Who knew that all these years later we’d be celebrating@33 (sic) years!!” he added. “I’m so proud of us and all we’ve achieved together, and you guys, our fans have been with us every ‘step’ of the way!! My absolute, ultimate Steps memory is having all of our children together on stage with us on our last tour!
“Now it’s your turn.. tell me yours! I want to hear !! Lots of Love xx Hope you’re all staying safe and well xx.”
Claire also got reflective, adding in her own sweet message: “23 years young today!! 07/05/97 the day that changed our lives forever, the good the bad and the ugly! And I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.
“Being in Steps has shaped my whole life more than I ever could have imagined when I was 19 years old and we were starting our adventure,” the Tragedy star continued. “Ultimately I have my husband @reecehill1 and my two babies because of steps so I will be forever grateful that I didn’t chicken out of the audition at bourne hall in Ewell on the 7th of May 1997!”
Meanwhile, Faye kept things short and sweet, telling followers: “23 years ago today!! … Happy Anniversary guys!”
And finally, around eight hours late to the party, Lee joined in, sharing: “Wow! Happy Anniversary Steps. 23 years today. Who would of believed that eh!
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us from the beginning & to all the new steppers out there, we love you all.”
