Steps head take over Blackpool’s Golden Mile in the lyric video for the group’s latest single, To The Beat of My Heart.
The clip, which was recorded while the group visited the seaside town for their Royal Variety Performance last November, sees the five-piece explore the Coral Island amusements while taking advantage of having the entire venue to themselves.
Throughout the video, lyrics from the track play over shots of Claire, Lee, Lisa, H and Faye making their way between the attractions, including dance mats and basketball hoops.
Co-written by MNEK and The Saturdays’ Mollie King, the tune’s a massive dance track and an instant highlight from the album, which is preceded by singles What The Future Holds and Something In Your Eyes.
Two other promo singles – Under My Skin and Hold My Heart – have also been released.
In our review of the album, Retro Pop called What The Future Holds “a cohesive collection that plays to each of the members’ strengths and showcases the versatility of Steps as Britain’s premier pop group… undoubtedly their most confident, polished release yet.”
What The Future Holds is available on CD, pink vinyl, picture disc vinyl, and individual member cassettes.
In an exclusive interview with Retro Pop, classic Steps collaborators Topham and Twigg revealed they’ve reunited and pitched a number of tracks to the group for their forthcoming seventh album.
“Myself and Mark have penned three or four songs… Which is our first co-pen for about 10 years!” shared Karl Twigg

“We’ve written a new track, which we penned about three months ago now, and it is f**king amazing. It’s probably one of the best songs we’ve ever written.
“In fact, there’s about three that we’ve penned that are just stone-cold monster hits.”
Despite the pair’s celebrated history with the group, Karl insists they’ve “avoided the whole nostalgia thing” on the new tracks, but described the songs as “bangers”.
