Steps will release A Hundred Years of Winter as their next single.
The group kicked off their ‘What The Future Holds’ tour in style this week with a set combining their latest tracks with their biggest chart hits.
From their recent album ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’, they performed the singles Heartbreak in This City (feat. Michelle Visage), Take Me For a Ride and The Slightest Touch, plus their forthcoming release.
Before Ian ‘H’ Watkins introduced the track, co-written by Savage Garden’s Darren Hayes, Lee Latchford-Evans said: “We’re gonna slow things down a little for you now.
“This is the first time we’ve actually ever performed this,” he added. “It’s a bit of a surprise, I hope you like it… it’s very special and it’s gonna be our next single.”
A release date for A Hundred Years of Winter has yet to be confirmed.
Elsewhere in the show, Lisa Scott-Lee looked to the future and the band’s 25th anniversary, teasing they have “big celebrations” planned for the next 12 months. .
“As you know, next year is our 25th anniversary… we definitely want to celebrate,” she beamed. “We’re planning something very, very exciting and it’s very big.”
In a review of the album, Retro Pop said ‘What The Future Holds Pt. 2’ is packed with “wall-to-wall pop precision” and “paves the way for the band’s 25th anniversary celebrations in 2022”.
