Melanie C has vowed to record the Spice Girls’ next concert tour for a DVD release.
The singer, who’s gearing up to release her eighth, self-titled solo album in October, hit the road with Emma Bunton, Geri Horner and Mel B last year for the Spice World tour – the band’s first in over 10 years.
Speaking with BBC Online, Melanie admitted the group is “talking about [another tour] constantly,” and insisted this time round they’ll definitely film the show.
“We shied away from having a DVD, because people came from all over the world and they saved and they spent all this money to see us, so there’s part of you that wants it to be a unique experience, this magical moment in time,” Melanie mused.
“But so many people have been upset about it – and we are too, actually, because it’d be lovely just to look back and enjoy it all over again.
“So hopefully, if we get our act together, we’ll make another time to get up there and get it recorded properly.”
Reflecting on the possibility of hitting the road again after the Covid-19 pandemic subsides, Mel admitted she’s hopeful Victoria Beckham, who sat out on the last jaunt, will return to the fold, after the five got together earlier this year during lockdown.
“Not having Victoria on stage last year, you know, it was bittersweet,” she said. “The shows were phenomenal but there was someone missing.”
However, she warned fans not to get their hopes up – joking it was a “miracle” they even managed to get the four of them back together for the 2019 jaunt.
“Trust me, it’s a miracle we ever do anything, because we’re impossible,” she laughed. “But when we do, it’s like the stars align and magic happens”.
