Kitchen Disco Queen Sophie Ellis-Bextor is heading back online to help raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice in Worcester, England.
The Starlight hitmaker is among the big name stars tapped for Woo Fest, which is going virtual amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Sophie, who became a lockdown icon with her weekly Kitchen Discos, will headline the event, which also features Toyah Willcox.
Grant Nicholas from Feeder, Nigel Clark from Dodgy, and Andy Bennett, formerly of Ocean Colour Scene, will also perform.
The festival, which donates 100 per cent of its donations to the hospice, was set up in 2015 by Luke Simons and his sister, Ria, in memory of their Dad, John.
Luke told the Malvern Gazette: “We’ve been blown away by the response from artists keen to take part in a virtual festival this year and support the care that St Richard’s provides locally at the same time.”
Explaining that the broadcast will be free to view, he added: “What we do ask is that people dig deep and make a donation to St Richard’s while they watch.”
