Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s cover of the New Order classic True Faith will appear on her forthcoming album Songs from the Kitchen Disco.
The hitmaker became a lockdown legend with her weekly Kitchen Disco Instagram Live shows and, taking the concept to the next level, she’s releasing an album and heading on the road with her Kitchen Disco Tour next year.
While a full tracklist for the album has yet to be announced, Sophie confirmed True Faith – which she originally recorded for the BBC Radio 2: Sounds Of The 80s album, will feature on the record.
After a fan posted on Twitter, “I hope your cover version of ‘True Faith’ will be in the songs from the kitchen disco album,” Sophie replied: “Yes! It is.”

It’s the second track confirmed for the release – Sophie previously announced on Instagram she’s recorded a new version of her breakout hit Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love) with Freemasons, who she worked with on Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) and Bittersweet.
According to a press release, the album will include all of Sophie’s Top 10 hits plus her other disco tracks and a handful of covers she performed during the virtual shows.
