Sophie Ellis-Bextor's original four albums coming to vinyl for 20th anniversary

Sophie Ellis-Bextor is bringing her four classic albums to vinyl for the first time as she celebrates 20 years of her chart-topping solo career.

The singer has teamed up with start-up label Plastic Pop Records for the releases, beginning with her debut LP ‘Read My Lips’, which gets a 2LP red vinyl pressing set to drop in June 2021.

The collection features the UK Top 10 hits Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me), Murder on the Dancefloor, Get Over You and Move This Mountain, plus bonus track Never Let Me Down.

Also included is a live version of Groovejet (If This Aint Love).

Her second release ‘Shoot From The Hip’ features the singles Mixed Up World and I Won’t Change You, along with three bonus tracks: Physical, The Earth Shook The Devil’s Hand and Yes Sir, I Can Boogie.

Meanwhile, third release ‘Trip The Light Fantastic’ includes Catch You, Me and My Imagination and Today the Sun’s On Us, plus exclusive bonus cuts, including Down With Love, Move to the Music, Here’s to You and Duel.

Both albums – pressed on 2LP white and green coloured vinyl, respectively – are available September 2021.

And finally, Sophie’s fourth record ‘Make a Scene’, featuring the massive anthems Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer) and Bittersweet, is due late 2021, and comes on 2LP magenta vinyl with added cuts Sophia Loren and Dear Jimmy.

‘Read My Lips’, ‘Shoot From the Hip’, ‘Trip the Light Fantastic’ and ‘Make a Scene’ are available to pre-order directly from the Plastic Pop Records store.

Its turning into a packed year for Sophie, who recently closed out her hit Kitchen Disco livestream series with a 20th virtual gig, packed with hits and an emotional tribute to her late stepdad.

In addition to hosting the third season of her hit podcast, ‘Spinning Plates’, the Take Me Home (A Girl Like Me) star is working on her seventh album, which is due for release soon.

A memoir, ‘Spinning Plates: Thoughts on Men, Music and Motherhood’, is also due for release on October 7. It’s available to pre-order from Amazon, Waterstones and WH Smith now. Signed copies are also available.
