Sigala has teased the release of his new single Stay The Night, featuring Talia Mar.
The influencer and singer appears on the latest track from the DJ, arriving three months after his latest hit Melody.
“@taliamar and I have been busy cooking up something very special in the studio…” he penned, revealing Stay The Night is available to pre-order/save now.
The single is expected to feature on Sigala’s second studio album, due later this year.
Speaking to Retro Pop, the hitmaker recently confessed he’s a massive fan of 1990s music, which has influenced the direction of his forthcoming second LP.
“I grew up in the ‘90s. I’m a ‘90s baby, so I was around all that stuff when I was very young,” he says. “The whole rave culture and trance and stuff like that.
“My knowledge of it isn’t really that good, but it’s in there somewhere… Those sounds and those feelings and that era of music definitely inspires me.”
He adds: “There’s something about that era of music. It just always sounds good and it always has, through the 2000s and even now.
“Those piano house songs, they live on. And yeah, there’s something cool about that.”
Sigala is set to release a new album this summer, but he admits writing the record was challenging as he battled writer’s block during the pandemic.
“There were a lot of writers and producers and people in music who tried to carry on doing what they do over Zoom, but it just wasn’t the same,” he explains. “To be honest, I did it once and then I was like, I’ll just do it on my own for a bit. Because it was a bit soul destroying.
“Until Covid happened, I didn’t realise how much I relied on the experiences and inspiration and everything that comes with touring.
“As soon as I stopped, there was a downward spiral of inspiration and the longer I didn’t go out and travel and perform, the harder it really was to make good music and be confident in what I was doing.
“Because without being able to play to people and see people’s reactions, it’s really hard to gauge… I can like something, but who knows what everyone else thinks!”
