Shania Twain has shared a snippet of her new song Giddy Up! on social media.
The track is the opening number from her forthcoming sixth album ‘Queen of Me’, due February 2023, which features the single Waking Up Dreaming.
Teasing the tune, Shania shared a clip of herself strutting down the street and lip syncing the track, wearing a metallic leopard print outfit and cowboy hat.
Giddy Up! will be released January 5.
The Swingin’ With My Eyes Closed hitmaker recently shared the tracklist for her 12-song set, writing: “For me, the track order is as important as the music itself. Just like the music, it takes you on a journey and it’s gotta be just right!”
Referencing Giddy Up!, she added: “And as a homage to my roots… I had to add a little punctuation in there.”
‘Queen of Me’ is described as “the superstar’s most triumphant-feeling body of work; an album about standing in your own power and worshipping yourself,” with Shania sharing her own thoughts on the record.
“These days, I’m feeling very comfortable in my own skin – and I think this album reflects that musically,” penned the singer-songwriter. “Life is short and I want to be uplifted, colorful, unapologetic and empowered. I want to carry a clear message, particularly as a woman, to always remember my power and I hope the songs are a reminder to you, of that same power inside you!
“I want to celebrate this new chapter with you all on my tour! Vegas has been a dream, but I’m ready to be on the road and sing with you, dance with you and have a kick ass night out with you! This one’s gonna be a big party – no inhibitions, no conditions, let’s get a little out of line!!
“I’ll be Queen Of Me – you be Queen of YOU!”
In support of the album, which also features Not Just a Girl and the new track Last Day of Summer, co-written with Jack Savoretti, Shania will embark on a world tour.
The ‘Queen of Me Tour’ kicks off in April with a North American leg running through July, before hitting the UK and Ireland in September with shows across the country.
Additionally, Shania and Live Nation have announced that £/€1.50 per ticket sold (less deductions for tax and royalties) will be donated to Shania Kids Can, which provides services that promote positive change in children’s lives in times of crises and economic hardship.
‘Queen of Me’, which features 12 songs in total, comes out February 3 and is available to pre-order now. Tickets for the ‘Queen of Me Tour’ are on general sale now.
