Shania Twain has shared a glimpse into the creation of her latest biographical album ‘Little Miss Twain’.
The country-pop icon shared the 12-minute behind the scenes clip to her YouTube channel, taking fans into the recording studio as she crafted the record, which became her seventh UK Top 10 LP over the summer.
Alongside Twain and her husband Frédéric Thiébaud, the video features collaborators including Tanya Tucker, who is name checked and sings on the album’s title song, and The War and Treaty, who perform on ‘Take It To The River’, co-written with Rolling Stones‘ Ronnie Wood, who also appears.
It also features segments documenting the creation of album cuts including ‘Right Time’, ‘Stranger Things’, ‘Dirty Rosie’ and ‘Problematic’, along with ‘The Places I’ll Go’ deluxe tracks ‘Who Do You Love’, ‘What’s Going On In There’ and ‘Hate That Way’.
During one scene, which sees Shania documenting the recording process on a whiteboard which lists each of the album’s tracks, fans were quick to spot an as-yet unreleased song: ‘Touchy Subject’.
While it’s not previewed in the feature, fans were quick to take to the comments to speculate on whether it was reworked for inclusion on the final album – which RETROPOP hailed as a “triumphant return” from the Canadian superstar – or remains unreleased.
