Sarah Harding was apparently on board to celebrate Girls Aloud’s 20th anniversary weeks before she was delivered her shock breast cancer diagnosis.

The group, comprising Sarah, Cheryl Tweedy, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh, and Nicola Roberts, was reportedly in talks for shows, TV performances and even a new album to mark the milestone in 2022.

Sarah, who revealed her health scare in an emotional Instagram post on Wednesday, was apparently “desperate” to make the highly-anticipated reunion happen.

A source told The Sun: “It was all very cloak and dagger, but everyone was hugely excited to announce the comeback later this year.

“At the moment, all anyone cares about is that she gets the treatment she needs — the music comes second,” they added.

“But for the first time in years, all five girls are back in regular contact — even if under the most heartbreaking of circumstances.”

The 38-year-old singer shared a snap of herself in a hospital bed on her Instagram page as she revealed she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year.

“A couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body,” she explained. “I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can.”

The Call The Shots stars were formed on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, and went on to release five albums in five years between 2003 and 2008, with an impressive string of twenty consecutive Top 10 singles in the UK.
