Sandi Thom is back with her latest single, Silence.
The singer-songwriter – who topped the charts worldwide in 2006 with I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker – returns this week with the lead track from her new EP, ‘Warpaint’.
“Silence is a song of hope in desperation… a song of searching for answers within turbulence,” she says. “It captures a moment in my darkest times, within what seemed to be an endless ‘desert’ of despair… a time when pain seemed unbearable, and my senses were numbed.”
Laden with lush harmonies and underpinned by reverberating synths, she adds of the track: “The song conveys the oscillation of emotions and questions, a way of making sense of my reality… my ‘silence’.
“The message is one of hope, that even in the darkest of times, there is always a light. I feel the song is more poignant now than ever, given the conflict and suffering being experienced by so many people right now.”
