Sandra ‘Pepa’ Denton is suing Uber over a multi-car pile-up that left her with multiple injuries in 2018.
The Salt-N-Pepa suffered injuries and loss of wages after she was caught up in the accident on Los Angeles’ 101 freeway.
The driver and three other commuters are accused of having “operated their vehicle negligently and carelessly”, causing the smash.
According to TMZ, the Push It star was a passenger in a friend’s car, which was hit from behind by the Uber driver, leaving her requiring medical attention for neck and knee pain.
Reports stated police ruled the Uber employee had been following too closely behind Denton’s ride, and therefore couldn’t stop in time to prevent a collision.
The hitmaker says she still experiences intense pain following the crash, which has hampered her ability to travel and perform.
Salt-N-Pepa are set to be the subject of a TV biopic, with actresses G.G. Townson and Laila Odom tapped to star as the rap veterans in the show, which will chronicle the stars’ rise in the hip-hop industry in the late 1980s as they established themselves as one of the first all-female rap groups, while also going behind the scenes to examine the ups and downs of the musicians’ relationship.
Further details have yet to be announced.
