RAYE has landed her first-ever UK No. 1 single with her 070 Shake collaboration Escapism.
Having climbed the charts over recent weeks, the singer-songwriter finally hit the top spot on this week’s rundown with the latest single from her debut album ‘My 21st Century Blues’.
“We are Number 1 in the UK! It’s the first Number 1 of the year, it’s my first Number 1 in my life. I’m an independent artist, this is sickening,” she tells OfficialCharts.
“This is proof [you should] back yourself, no matter what. Thank you, this is mad. These are happy tears!”
In at No. 2 is Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero, with Venbee & Goddard’s Messy In Heaven at No. 3. R&B star SZA’s Kill Bill is at No. 4, while Meghan Trainor rounds out the Top 5 with Made You Look.
Over on the Albums Chart, Taylor Swift holds strong at the top with ‘Midnights’, ahead of SZA’s ‘SOS’ and The Weeknd’s ‘The Highlights’.
Ed Sheeran is at No. 4 with ‘=’, ahead of Harry Styles at No. 5 with ‘Harry’s House’.
