Pet Shop Boys have partnered with high street fashion giant Zara for a new line of official apparel.
The collection consists of four T-shirts inspired by key moments from the duo’s extensive catalog of music, including hit 1986 single Suburbia, which has its lyrics printed on the front of one cream design.
It’s one of two songs to be recognised as part of the limited run; 2009 release Love Etc. is also featured on a black T-shirt (though without lyrics), with ‘Pet Shop Boys’ written on the front.
In addition to tracks, two albums are also given the design treatment, with the artwork for 2016 release ‘Super’ adapted to the front and back design of a white tee.
And in a curveball move, the pair’s 2012 B-sides collection ‘Format’ is the basis for the fourth and final piece.
The four-piece collection is currently available online and in store.
Pet Shop Boys could have more new music on the way after working remotely on “tonnes” of new music during the lockdown, following the release of their 14th Lp ‘Hotspot’ in 2020.
And although the downtime has meant the group has been forced to push their live shows, the duo is excited to finally return to the stage.
Singer Neil Tennant says: “I think there is going to be a big explosion of audience energy, joy and excitement and all the rest of it.
“I also think people will get back to normal fairly quickly – I’m looking forward to having a normal life again.”
