NINA has released a new version of her single I’ll Wait with Radio Wolf.
Originally released last year as the lead song on the soundtrack for the horror feature film ‘There’s No Such Thing As Vampires’, the track has been reworked just in time for halloween.
Of collaborating with Radio Wolf aka Oliver Blair on the recording, she explains: “I think [his] background and interest in the visual arts gives him a conceptual edge when it comes to producing music for film. He’s able to ‘sonically visualise’ based on imagery he sees on the screen. He gets to the conceptual core of a film and understands its visual motifs.
“When he called me into the studio to take me through his ideas for creating a different expression of the song, I was hooked right away. He got something new brewing in me. It felt similar to our collaboration on my single Carnival Night; the excitement of performing with a deeper tone and playing with my vocal ‘colour’.”
She adds: “I think this new version of the song shines a new light on Logan’s lyrics. I’m so glad he loves this recording.”
Earlier this year, NINA revealed she’s working on three new projects, including a collaboration with Kim Wilde’s brother and collaborator Ricky Wilde.
“I’m collaborating with three other artists at the moment; Kid Moxie, Ricky Wilde, and Radio Wolf,” she told Retro Pop. “All three projects are expecting EPs and/or LPs sometime this year and maybe early next year.
“After that, I have big plans for my next solo album. I won’t give away too much, but I will say that I’m shaking things up and I’ve never been more inspired.”
Hinting at her new sound, NINA says she’s “heading in that direction with a more ‘world-building’ and ‘Cinematic Pop’ state of mind.”
