Elton John has finished work on his 32nd studio album – but release plans are on hold amid the singer-songwriter’s health issues.
The Goodbye Yellow Brick Road hitmaker is battling a serious eye infection that has left him with limited vision, with insiders revealing plans for a big end to 2024 with the LP and documentary ‘Elton John: Never Too Late’ “up in the air”.
A source told The Sun’s Bizarre column: “Elton has quietly been working on the album all year.
“The initial plan was for a Christmas release and to end the year on a high with the new album and his new documentary.
“But his health has meant things are up in the air.
“A few people are surprised that Elton has managed to complete it by the end of the summer, but now it has officially been handed in.”
It was previously reported that the music legend was working on a “top secret” record after wrapping his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ tour, with his friend and collaborator, Bernie Taupin, revealing Elton’s 32nd studio LP is “done”.
Speaking at ‘The Other Songs Live’ in London back in May, he said: “Elton and I have an album coming out very soon, but I daren’t say anything about it because I’m under strict orders to keep schtum.
“It’s all done and recorded.”
