National Album Day organisers are celebrating women in music with an extensive list of 2021 vinyl reissues.
Set to drop on October 16, the annual event this year aims to open conversation about classic albums from the world’s premiere female artists.
Topping the list is ‘Fever’, marking the 20th anniversary of Kylie Minogue’s UK No. 1 album, featuring hits like Come Into My World, In Your Eyes and the massive Can’t Get You Out of My Head.
Pressed on white vinyl, the sought-after reissue was previously only available exclusively in Sainsbury’s in 2017, and on red vinyl in Singapore in 2018.
Also sure to be a hit is Gabrielle’s ‘Rise’, which gets its first vinyl reissue in two decades, along with Dido’s breakout debut ‘No Angel’, which comes on silver wax.
Following her hugely successful #MC30 vinyl reissue campaign in 2020, Mariah Carey’s ‘Emotions’ also gets a new pressing to celebrate three decades since its initial release.
The new version is on Baby Pink vinyl.
A new Belinda Carlisle compilation, titled ‘Nobody Owns Me’, is pressed on white vinyl, and features tracks from the albums ‘Heaven on Earth’, ‘Live Your Life Be Free’ and ‘Real’, along with a new recording of The Youngbloods’ 1966 track Get Together.
Meanwhile, Donna Summer’s ‘I’m a Rainbow: Recovered & Recoloured’, will be available on transparent blue vinyl.
Róisín Murphy’s ‘Róisín Machine’ gets another reissue, this time on splatter vinyl, along with Stevie Nicks’ ‘Live in Concert: The 24 Karat Gold Tour’.
And there’s Sinead O’Connor’s ‘So Far… The Best Of’, which is to be reissued on 2LP clear vinyl.
