MUNA have launched into their latest era with ‘Dancing On The Wall’ – the lead single and title song from their upcoming fourth studio album.
Due May 8, the LP is the ‘I Know A Place’ hitmakers’ first since their self-titled 2023 release and was produced by band member Naomi McPherson, seeing the trio take complete artistic control.
On the record, they said: “’Dancing On The Wall’ is possibly our favorite song we’ve made as a band.
“We think it’s all the best parts of MUNA – it’s coming from a really emotional and lonely place, but the song itself makes us feel powerful and euphoric.
“It’s written in the moment that the clock strikes midnight at the ball, and you have to give up the fantasy,” added the ‘Anything But Me’ singers. “In this case, it’s the fantasy of loving someone or something that can’t love you back.”
To celebrate the release, the band – also starring Katie Gavin and Josette Maskin – will play a series of intimate underplay shows in Los Angeles, New York and London during release week, before a string of larger-scale concerts later in the year.
‘Dancing On The Wall’ is out on May 8 and available to pre-order from Amazon, HMV, Rough Trade, Townsend and more. Listen to the single ‘Dancing On The Wall’ below.
