Mary J. Blige can’t wait for fans to hear her forthcoming album ‘Good Morning Gorgeous’.
The R&B icon unveiled the first two singles from her 14th studio LP last week and, teasing the project, she insisted the record will “blow everybody’s mind”.
Explaining the album has been inspired by her “darkest moments”, which ultimately led to self-acceptance, Mary tells the ‘Tamron Hall’ show: “It’s something I had to do…
“[It’s] something I had to say when I was in my darkest, darkest moments in that life, to build myself up to this person that I can see and accept my nose, accept my eyes, accept my cheeks, accept all the things that I used to hate.”
Admitting she’s learned to become her “own best friend”, the hitmaker added: “When I wake up with no hair and makeup, I’m accepting that chick that goes to the bathroom and I like her.
“I hang out with myself a lot. I’m my own best friend.”
‘Good Morning Gorgeous’ is due February February 11 – two days before the hitmaker performs during the Super Bowl LVI Halftime show.
The singer’s last album was 2017’s ‘Strength Of A Woman’.
