Mariah Carey has teamed up with the producer behind some of her biggest hits for her upcoming 16th album.
The star has been teasing new music for the past 12 months, following her 2018 album Caution, and eagle-eyed fans spotted a frequent collaborator posted about Mariah’s new album on Twitter.
Earlier this month, Jermaine Dupri, who produced hits including We Belong Together, Always Be My Baby, and It’s Like That, shared the cryptic post: “This Mariah record.”

While the producer didn’t elaborate on the message, Johnta Austin, who co-wrote a number of his from The Emancipation of Mimi, including Shake It Off and Don’t Forget About Us, and previously confirmed he was working on the new album, simply commented with two side-eye emojis.

She’s also promoting her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, which is out in September.
