Mariah Carey debuted the video her new single Save The Day at the 2020 US Open Women’s Final on Saturday.
The track, which features Ms. Lauryn Hill and is the first single to be lifted from her new album The Rarities, was played on TV for the first time at the opening of the event.
For the first time in US Open history, Mimi’s video performance, which incorporates footage of the most notable players in women’s tennis history, was filmed on the grounds of the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center days before the tournament began on August 31st.
“Watch SAVE THE DAY tomorrow at the Women’s Finals event of the @usopen! Honored to celebrate these amazing women and gamechangers,” Mariah tweeted alongside a 22-second preview of her performance.
Slated for release on October 2nd, The Rarities includes outtakes, demos and B-sides from Mariah’s 30-year career. Also included is her performance from Japan’s Tokyo Dome in 1996. Pre-order the album here.
