Mariah Carey is flexing her vocal chops – for the audiobook recording of her forthcoming memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
The singer took to Instagram to share a snap of herself sitting on a cinema-style seat, complete with cup holders in the arms, along with the manuscript for the forthcoming tome, released 29 September.
“Recording: The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” she penned in the caption, along with her trademark butterfly emoji.
In a note on social media ahead of the announcement of the book, Mariah wrote: “This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival and my songs. Unfiltered.
“I went deep into my childhood and gave the scared little girl inside of me a big voice. I let the abandoned and ambitious adolescent have her say, and the betrayed and triumphant woman I became tell her side.
“Writing this memoir was incredibly hard, humbling and healing,” the Save The Day star concluded. “My sincere hope is that you are moved to a new understanding, not only about me, but also about the resilience of the human spirit.”
Mariah has been marking 30 years since the release of her self-titled debut album since July, releasing weekly digital EPs, featuring remixes and live performances of some of her biggest hits, as well as remastered videos.
Following the announcement of The Rarities, Mariah is slated to appear on Good Morning America’s Summer Concert Series on Wednesday. She will release her memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey, on September 29th.
