Mariah Carey has revealed herself as a massive fan of TV series ‘Pose’ as she thanked the show’s creator for including her classic hit Anytime You Need a Friend in its final season.
At the end of the second episode of series three, Billy Porter’s Pray Tell decides to check in to a rehab centre to tackle his alcoholism; and playing over the scene is Mariah’s classic 1994 single.
Taking to Twitter, ‘Pose’ co-creator Steven Canals shed some light on why he chose that specific tune for the episode, writing: “Ya’ll KNOW I love @MariahCarey. And of course one of my favorite songs is ‘Anytime You Need A Friend.’ So I had to use it this final season.”

And it seems the feeling is mutual, as the Hero singer was quick to respond with equal amounts of love for Steven and his show.

Season three of ‘Pose’ concludes in the US in June. A UK release has yet to be announced.
