Mariah Carey is re-releasing her 2010 Christmas hit Oh Santa!
The diva has teamed up with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson for the 2020 version of the single, which originally featured on her album Merry Christmas II You.
It’s set to be released on December 4th – the same day her Apple TV+ show Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special premieres on the streamer.
Described as “an innovative special,” the show combines music, dancing and animation and is “driven by a universally heartwarming story that brings the world together”.
Ariana and Jennifer both star in the holiday spectacular, alongside Tiffany Haddish, Billy Eichner, Snoop Dogg, Jermaine Dupri, Misty Copeland, The Peanuts Gang and Mykal-Michelle Harris. “Wxtra special appearances” are also made by Carey’s twins, Moroccan and Monroe.
Per an announcement, the storyline goes something like this: “Faced with a holiday cheer crisis, the North Pole knows there’s only one person who can save the day: Santa’s great friend, Mariah Carey.”
Mariah debuted a teaser for the special on her Instagram Stories and, alongside the poster for the show, she penned: “Let’s get festive!!!”
The soundtrack will be available exclusively on Apple Music from December 4th and will debut on all other platforms a week later, on December 11th.
Mariah, who recently dropped 16th album The Rarities, released her first festive record, Merry Christmas, in 1994. It features her massive holiday hit, All I Want for Christmas is You.
