Update October 14th: Clarissa has clarified she doesn’t own the recordings from the 1995 Chick sessions, revealing in a tweet to Retro Pop: “I do not have the Chick tracks but hope that Mariah can find them. She is amazing and I am sure she will.”
********Original Story********
Clarissa Dane, the singer on Mariah Carey’s Chick project, has unearthed a bunch of songs from the secret recording sessions.
After the Obsessed star revealed she had quietly contributed to every original track on a 1995 album called Someone’s Ugly Daughter by the band, and teased her “quest to unearth the version of this album with my lead vocals,” Clarissa told fans on Twitter she’d been on the case.
Taking to her own Twitter account, Clarissa opened up on her musical beginnings in the late 1980s and teased she’s unearthed a collection of songs she worked on with Mariah.
“Worked non-stop through the night trying to learn this craft. I slept in a tiny loft above the door on the back side,” she penned, adding, “Found some old songs with MC. Haven’t thought about all this in years.”

Reflecting on her friendship with the Make It Happen singer, Clarissa also revealed Mariah helped her realise her ambition for photography – by being her first-ever model!
“I love full circle moments! Since Chick broke, (which was so fun to do) here’s another secret that is 33 years old,” she posted. “My passion for photography goes way back (along with passion for music) & my first ‘models’ were beauty Mariah & my brother.”
