Madonna has been revisiting her old demo recordings while working on her forthcoming biopic.
The Queen of Pop is working on the project with Oscar winner Diablo Cody, who is co-writing her flick, and during a live stream on Instagram Madonna teased a snippet of the demo from the early ’80s.
“Something hit me on the head and I thought that I was dead, but I open up my eyes and to my sweet surprise,” she sings. “Laying next to me was a creature oh so fine, he made love to me or was it just my mind?”
Over chiming guitars, she belts on the chorus: “Am I just dreaming? Do you think you can stay? If I’m just dreaming, please don’t go away.”
The teaser comes after the Hung Up star previously posted a clip of a demo she recorded with the Breakfast Club.
“I want to convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer – a human being, trying to make her way in this world,” the star said in a statement.
“The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive.”
She added: “There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It’s essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision.”
The Like A Prayer star has been teasing the project on social media and has posted a series of videos to her Instagram of her and Diablo working on the movie.
