Madonna has partnered with Dua Lipa for a new remix of her track Levitating.
The Queen of Pop has teamed up with Dua for a new mix of the track, which appears on her latest album Future Nostalgia, and is set to be the record’s fifth single next month.
Announcing the collaboration, which also features rapper Missy Elliott, on Instagram, Dua wrote: “LEVITATING REMIXED BY THE BLESSED MADONNA FEATURING MY IDOLS MADONNA & MISSY ELLIOTT – 14TH OF AUGUST – DREAM COME TRUE LETS GO!!!!!!”
The British pop star is a massive fan of Madonna, and recently admitted she’d love to emulate the Material Girl’s longevity in pop.
“I want to do this for as long as I can,” she told Chelcee Grimes on her What We Coulda Been podcast. “I feel like Madonna peaked at 40 or 45 and made the best pop album known, and she continues to kill it.”
Speaking to Music Week magazine, her manager Ben Mawson also revealed he’s been pitching a potential duet featuring the two stars to Madonna’s team.
“She’s definitely the complete pop star and obviously this album is heavily influenced by Madonna,” he explains. “In fact, we’re about to try and get Madonna on a record.
“I’m going to write the email and see if she’s up for going on a Dua track. But Dua’s definitely got it all, so she’s got unlimited potential.”
The new track is set to be released on August 14th – the day the single gets released.
